STAFF at one of the UK’s leading nurseries based in Hereford are celebrating this month (April, 2018) after being shortlisted for four Horticulture Week Business Awards.

Wyevale Nurseries has been nominated for categories including Wholesale Nursery Stock Grower of the Year and Business Innovation of the Year in the trade publication’s first annual awards.
Adam Dunnett, Sales & Marketing Director at Wyevale Nurseries, said: “We were over the moon to have been shortlisted for a number of Horticulture Week Business Awards. We would have been delighted with making it through to one category but four is just amazing.
“Other categories for us include the New Generation Awards, which Chris King our Management Trainee has been entered into. These awards are to identify the best newcomers to the horticulture industry across all sectors: production, garden retail, landscape creation and landscape management. The New Generation Awards recognise the individuals who have the potential to become the leaders of the horticulture industry in the next decade.
“To add to all this, three of our plants – Morus ‘Mojo Berry’, Senecio ‘Angel Wings’ and Daphne ‘Perfumed Princess’ have been shortlisted for the new ornamental plant variety award too! Thanks to all our staff for all their continued hard work and dedication. They make it all possible. We will all have our fingers crossed for the award ceremony in June.”
Horticulture Week launched the Horticulture Week Business Awards 2018 to support, encourage and broadcast excellence among the businesses that make up the UK horticulture industry. The award ceremony will take place at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on June 28.
