Shakespeare has always been closely linked with the outdoors. In his Elizabethan heyday, the Bard’s plays were performed in the open-roofed Globe Theatre in London. This outdoor setting gave productions added impact. In an open-air setting, the day and the play can draw to a close simultaneously.

In the summer evening of Saturday 7th July, Quantum Theatre will present a brand new production of Shakespeare’s most enduringly popular play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, hosted in the grounds of Hagley Hall, with the 18th century Palladian mansion, that is home to Lord and Lady Cobham being the perfect backdrop.
With picnics in the park, we feel we have discovered the perfect way to enjoy Shakespeare, where you can sit back in the open-air and enjoy the stunning views towards the rolling Malvern Hills. Here, our theatregoers can gather in a picturesque intimate setting, surrounded by beautiful open landscaped parkland, an ideal spot for the forest antics of Oberon, Titania and the unfortunate individual who gets turned into a donkey!
We are seeing a high demand in ticket sales, which we feel proves our point that outdoor theatre is also ‘event’ theatre and that crucially the perfect setting will greatly enhance your theatre experience. Hagley Hall has ample free parking, refreshments available during the interval and an opportunity to purchase premium tickets for £35.00, where access to our Grand White Hall, for chunky canapés and fizz is the ideal pre-theatre treat!
Tickets for our family friendly event can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 0845 450 5157 or visiting Quantum Theatre:
