Severn Arts are looking to appoint new members to our board of trustees to support and constructively challenge the charity. Trustees have ultimate responsibility for the charity, and they must make decisions with the best interests of Severn Arts in mind.
About the role:
Trustees advance the purpose of Severn Arts by fulfilling the duties outlined in the Essential Trustee Guide. You will need to comply with charity and company laws and be prepared to attend board meetings throughout the year. The board meets up to six times a year, in-person, for two-hour sessions. This is a voluntary position, however reasonable expenses (e.g. travel) may be claimed. New trustees are asked to serve on the board for a minimum of three years. A DBS check is required for this role, which Severn Arts will arrange.
Person Specification:
– Enthusiasm for and willingness to devote time to Severn Arts
– Creative thinking and an appreciation for the creative sector
– Experience of working in a team
– Integrity, interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
– Interest or experience in the arts, property, legal, HR, music education or charitable sector is desirable but not essential
