Introducing our Skills Solutions

As part of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding

As part of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce are delivering free training courses to individuals living in Wychavon*, Worcester City and Wyre Forest. These new training courses will be booked on a first-come, first-serve basis to residents in these districts. Based on the Worcestershire LSIP findings, employers identified two large skills gaps that are both a need and a necessity in the workplace.

*Wychavon residents must have 20% of the training cost subsidised by their employer.
Net Zero

We have designed two new training courses based on these needs:

An Introduction to Basic Digital Skills
An Introduction to Professional Skills

Workplace skills are increasingly recognised as critical for success in personal and professional settings, whilst basic digital skills are now expected for most roles in order to navigate and work effectively in a digital society.

Available Training Courses

These two training courses have been designed to support any employees, but in particular those starting work, returning to work, unemployed or anyone with these particular needs identified.

Individuals can attend both training courses, however spaces are limited therefore we’d encourage booking as soon as possible.

Local Skills Improvement Plans

In 2022, the government announced that employers must have a bigger say in skills provision, and as a result Local Skills Improvement Plans were created.

Every county in England has its own Local Skills Improvement Plan which will reflect the unique and specific needs of the employers within each county. Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is leading on the LSIP for Worcestershire. If you are a Worcestershire based employer, we invite you to play a part in this important project and help pave the way that training, and education is delivered within our county.

Apply for a SkillsBoost financial grant to support upskilling of Worcestershire employers and employees. Upskill your Worcestershire resident employees up to £12,000 and claim 50% of the costs back (up to £6,000) from the SkillsBoost programme.
