NETWALK YOUR WAY TO STAND TALL FOR WORCESTER

Home / News & Opportunities / Chamber News

Date: 25/06/2018

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is pleased to reveal that it has joined forces with Worcester Businesses Improvement District (BID) and Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire, to produce a “Netwalking” event for businesses in support of Worcester Stands Tall.

Later this year, the city of Worcester will welcome 56 giraffes as part of a Wild in Art event with St Richard’s Hospice, to raise the much needed funds to support its Build 2020 campaign to grow the hospice and functionality. The giraffes will be placed on a six-mile route across the city, encompassing the High Street, parks, schools and open spaces.

Over 30 businesses and schools in the county have come together to sponsor the event, with the countdown now on to reveal the designs of the giraffes that have been created by a host of local artists, that will brighten the streets of Worcester for 10-weeks from July.

The Chamber, Worcester BID and Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire have partnered to curate an event to improve the wellbeing of the staff whose businesses are sponsoring the safari giants.

On Thursday 19 July, firms in the county are invited to a Netwalking Evening, sponsored by Worcester Bosch, alongside the main sponsors of Worcester Stands Tall, to make valuable new connections and support the fantastic initiative that will be taking over in now just a few weeks time.

Guests are invited to meet at The Hive before embarking on the trail across the city ending at the The Old Rectifying House to enjoy a well deserved Pimms and array of nibbles. Attendees will be able to enjoy a chance to network during and after the stroll, with plenty of opportunities for photographs with the sponsors, artists and giraffes.

Sharon Smith, Chief Executive at H&W Chamber of Commerce, said:

“I am delighted that the Chamber has partnered with Worcester BID and Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire to promote such a brilliant event.

“I encourage businesses of all sizes and sectors to join us to show united business support for St Richard’s Hospice’s fundraising campaign that will be sure to bring colour to the city this summer.”
