NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR H&W CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Home / News & Opportunities / Chamber News

Date: 29/10/2018

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for Chamber of the Year 2018 by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).

The Chamber would like to thank its network, Members and Partners for helping it to achieve national recognition.

The announcement follows a busy but successful year for the Chamber of Commerce, having been named within The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-for-profit Companies to Work for 2018. In addition to the accolade, the Chamber also received a 1-Star accreditation from Best Companies which highlights that the organisation has “very good” levels of workplace engagement.

Speaking of the shortlisting for Chamber of the Year, Sharon Smith, Chief Executive, said: “I am thrilled that the Chamber has been shortlisted for Chamber of the Year 2018.

“As previous winners in 2013, the award truly reflects how passionate the Chamber is about supporting our Members who are the driving force behind the work we carry out.

“I look forward to joining our six regional finalists at the BCC Chamber Business Awards ceremony on Thursday 29 November to hear the announcement of the winners.”

Recently, the Chamber was recognised by the Investors in People (IIP) Accreditation, where the company retained its impressive Gold status.

Speaking of the IIP accolade, Dawn Hardman, Director of HR, said: “Achieving the IIP accreditation at Gold standard is really important to us, and we’re so pleased to hear that we had been successful.

“Not only does the accreditation provide us with reassurance of the value of our people strategies and practices, but the IIP framework and feedback we received is invaluable when defining our future HR programmes.”

The Chamber aims to invest in its people, and the achievements earned this year recognise the hard-work each department puts in to provide the best level of support to the local business community.
