The Job
We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team, this is a new position to support the Finance Director and develop the current team to help them reach their full potential.
We are passionate about user success and are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about furthering our purpose.
The role will involve a variety of financial and management duties.
Duties will include:
• Develop and deliver an annual finance work plan which aligns with reporting and business requirements
• Develop relevant policies and procedures, and develop tools, guidance, and training for budget holders
• Identify and implement system and process improvements (efficient, resilient and robust)
• Improve the month-end reporting process including balance sheet reconciliations
• Identify and improve weakness controls to maintain the accuracy of the P&L and Balance Sheet
• Preparation of annual budgets and future business planning, including liaison with budget holders and
business analytics
• Develop a robust budget monitoring timetable and core processes, to ensure regular review of performance
with budget holders
• Hold regular meetings with budget holders acting as a business partner to support financial management
• Prepare monthly management information, budget and cash flow forecasts, and other reports and KPIs
• Develop and deliver the annual year-end accounts closedown timetable
• Alongside the Director of Finance, prepare the annual statutory disclosures
• Lead the liaison with external auditors to ensure the year-end audit is delivered to deadlines, including
resolving queries promptly and co-ordinating the finance team to provide audit samples as per the
agreed timeframes.
• Oversee quarterly VAT returns to meet HMRC deadlines.
Line Management
• Line manage members of the Finance team, helping team members to identify and develop opportunities to grow their skills and knowledge in line with wider company objectives.
• Managing the team’s well-being, absences, and sickness in line with company policies.
• Approving and monitoring annual leave
• Ensuring all team management is conducted in accordance with the companies policies and procedures
The successful applicant will also be asked to perform other duties on an ad-hoc basis and will need a proactive attitude to this.

Overview;
As well as fulfilling the duties of a Trustee, the Treasurer maintains an overview of Sight Concern Worcestershire’s financial affairs. The Treasurer leads the board in ensuring that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
The Treasurer’s responsibilities include;
• Overseeing the presentation of budgets, internal management accounts and annual financial statements to the Board of Trustees.
• Ensuring that proper accounting records are kept and that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.
• Ensuring that robust and comprehensive financial policies are in place and being implemented and supporting the development of policies covering financial reserves and cost management.
• Monitoring and advising on the financial viability of the charity.
• Overseeing financial controls and adherence to systems, regularly liaising with Chief Executive Officer and Finance Manager.
• Advising on the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan, including overseeing the charity’s financial risk-management process
• Ensuring investments and assets are maximised.
• Working with the Finance Manager on the appointment of and liaison with external auditors.
• Overseeing the development and implementation of systems for appraising, mitigating and reporting corporate risk.
• Ensuring that the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by relevant statutory bodies, for example, the Charity Commission and/or the Registrar of Companies.
• Keeping the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities and liaising with the Chair and Chief Executive Officer to develop the financial understanding of the Board of Trustees.
