You Do Better enjoy success with ‘word of the week’ communications initiative

The local pay-as-you-go PR and communications agency went back to basics with a new initiative aiming to share interesting language and unlock the wordsmiths within us all.

Each week, Chamber member You Do Better shine a spotlight on a new word while inviting others to join in and share the meanings behind some of their favourite, or most significant lexicon. The words are showcased online weekly, to add a little extra fun to the working week.

The idea behind the campaign is to not only designed to share interesting content and to gain interest in the words we use, but also to provide people with the tools they may need to communicate better. As a team of people who love words and how they’re used, the communications agency launched the campaign with ‘Wordsmith’; a skilled user of words.

Ruby Edwards, owner of You Do Better based near Pershore, commented:

“Words are a huge part of our everyday lives. It’s how we communicate, bond and engage with our loved ones, and, without them, life would be very different. Messaging, especially during the current climate, is really important and this is one way to support learning as well as developing how we communicate.”

The response has been extremely positive, with the initiative gaining engagement and interest from the local community. Local MP for West Worcestershire, Harriett Baldwin, shared ‘Unprecedented’: a word highly relevant to the unknown times we’re living in, but also one to look forward to overcoming.

Other wordsmiths include Sharon Smith, CEO of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Rachel Jenkins from plus-size lingerie brand Curvy Kate and Nick Owen from BBC Midlands Today. To find out more about You Do Better’s word of the week please visit: www.youdobetter.co.uk.
