Worcester Electrical Connections Provider Receives Visit from Parliamentary Candidates

Leading Independent Connections Provider (ICP), Rock Power Connections, has welcomed Parliamentary Candidate, Robin Walker, and the Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, Kwasi Kwarteng, to its head offices to discuss how SMEs can help drive the green agenda.

With a strategic focus on installing the electrical infrastructure for Electrical Vehicle (EV) chargers, Rock Power Connections is proactively working with commercial organisations looking to expand the national network of EV charging points.

Company Directors Kev Sankar, Reece James and Matt Crampton outlined this core growth area for the business, whilst discussing the importance of SMEs adopting a greener approach for themselves and their workers as we move towards a net zero carbon economy.

Kev Sankar, Director at Rock Power Connections, confirmed: “We were delighted to welcome both Kwasi Kwarteng and Robin Walker to Rock Power Connections and thoroughly enjoyed discussing the current and forecast growth of the EV sector. We held a healthy debate on the importance of business becoming a ‘smart energy business’ and the role EV and Battery Storage can play in this. In addition, it was great to hear the vital role of the Government in pushing SMEs to support its work in overcoming challenges surrounding energy and zero carbon.”

Both Mr Walker and Minister Kwarteng visited Rock Power Connections on Tuesday 26th November 2019 and were impressed by how the business had grown over the last 7 years, supported by a team of over 70 engaged employees.

Having won ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Awards earlier this year, Rock Power Connections has maintained impressive growth since inception, where its focus on driving the EV agenda will enable it to continue scale and grow.

Kev continued: “At Rock Power Connections we are a family-run business that is passionate about delivering the best possible service to our customers through a team of highly skilled electrical engineers. Both Mr Walker and Minister Kwarteng advised they were impressed with our growth to date and it was fantastic to hear the passion and the commitment they had for making a tangible impact on the low carbon economy.

“Overall, it was a really exciting meeting that enabled us to explore ways in driving prominent issues, like clean energy and sustainability, through a balance of regulation and incentives. As a business, we are now looking forward to next year and in supporting continued growth in EV charging infrastructure.”
