Worcester City Women FC named Community Club of the Year in landmark season

Worcester City Women FC (WCWFC) has been named Community Club of the Year at the FA Women’s National League Awards, recognising the club’s leadership in local engagement, inclusion and outreach across Worcestershire.

The award reflects a year of sustained work across schools, grassroots programmes and community partnerships, delivered largely by a dedicated volunteer team. For an independent women’s club still in its early years, the national recognition is a significant marker of how much ground WCWFC has covered, and how quickly.

It has been a landmark season on the pitch too. The club secured the Worcestershire County Cup and finished 5th in the FA Women’s National League in only its second season at Tier 4, a result that places WCWFC among the most competitive independent women’s clubs in the country.

The growth in the stands has been equally striking. WCWFC ranked 13th in attendance across all 72 clubs in the FA Women’s National League in 2025/26, reflecting a growing fanbase of families, young players and local organisations choosing Sixways as part of their weekend.

As the club heads into the 2026/27 season, the focus is on deepening those community roots, expanding its schools and youth programmes, and continuing to build a matchday experience that works for the whole region.

Worcester City Women FC is proudly independent, female-led and rooted in Worcestershire.
