A Worcester recruitment firm has donated dozens of Easter eggs to the city’s Foodbank.
Staff at city centre jobs specialist GMP Recruitment have collected over 60 Easter eggs and will be donating the chocolate treats to the foodbank based in Worcester’s Lowesmoor Wharf.
Mike Pincott, a director at GMP Recruitment, said: “The treat of a chocolate Easter egg makes a big difference to any child who has to spend this Easter in food poverty.
“As a parent myself, I don’t want any kids to go without and everyone here at GMP wants to ensure that parents who are using the foodbank here in Worcester can get hold of an Easter egg easily over the coming weeks. We want to help put smiles on as many faces as possible and are delighted to have collected so many eggs from our team and our clients.”
Ruth Allsopp, operations coordinator at Worcester Foodbank said: “We rely on the donations from individuals and businesses across Worcester. Mike and the team at GMP Recruitment have gone to a huge effort.
“Easter eggs mean a lot to children at this time of the year and it can’t be underestimated how many smiles this donation will put on their faces.”
Worcester Foodbank was opened in June 2012 to provide people in crisis with emergency three-day food parcels. In 2021, it provided almost 11,000 people with food parcels – an increase of 29% when compared to 2020.
