About Wildgoose

Wildgoose Rural Training is a Charity providing a Care Farm for Adults with learning difficulties on a day basis on a site situated near Holt on the A443 the road from Worcester to Tenbury.

Since 2018 they have added a Barn for animal care and student activities, an Education Centre and are in process of adding a Visitor Centre. The facilities are also use by local schools and societies, the new Visitor Centre is being developed as a gateway to the Nature Reserve with its extensive a varied flora and fauna. The Care Farm model allows students to experience outdoor activities, animal husbandry, horticulture, and different craft skills under the close supervision of permanent staff and enthusiastic volunteers. The Day Care is funded by the County Council and/or personal carers. They currently have 100 students who attend the site for various periods during the week.

Trustee Role

Wildgoose has a Board of Trustee who are volunteers and come from different life experiences. They currently have a Chairman and Vice Chairman together with 5 other Trustees.
The Board of Trustees are responsible managing the strategic direction of the Care Farm, monitoring financial controls, the welfare of the students and staff, and planning for future development and long-term sustainability. The current spread of skills and experience of the Trustees is extensive from the worlds of commerce, teaching, social services, one student parent, agricultural consultancy and design and construction.

The Board of Trustees would like to encourage 2 additional board members with current skills and experience in Human Relations and Finance/Accounting. The Board holds regular formal meetings usually every 6 weeks or so when attendance from all the Board Members is required and their active participation essential. Members do not receive payment for their services.

The Board of Trustees welcomes applications from suitable interested people with the experience and enthusiasm to make a valuable contribution to the future of Wildgoose Rural Training.
