Why you should get an A4 Laser Printer not an Inkjet

As working environments evolve due to Covid 19 people are working from home more, or trying to limit movement around the office, so desktop printers are back in favour.

While it’s tempting to go for an inkjet printer, this cheap initial outlay can be misleading. They are often sold at a loss because this will be offset by the cost of replacement ink cartridges. If you are likely to print a lot this isn’t economical. Laser toner cartridges are more expensive but will print 1000s of pages, as opposed to the 100s you get from an ink cartridge, which effectively works out at around 70% cheaper per page. Furthermore, service agreements with suppliers usually include the cost of toners in the cost per copy service charge so you can spread the cost.

Due to the technology involved, laser printers are generally faster and more efficient than inkjets and can produce sharper output because there is no bleed, nor is there any risk of smudging as can be the case with inkjets if the ink isn’t quite dry as it comes off the printer.

Monthly lease rentals for colour A4 laser printers can cost as little as £22 + VAT so going for laser is a smart move all round.
