Why I’m taking on The Kings Trust CEO Challenge

“I didn’t think I was good at anything… now I know I just needed a chance.” That’s the voice of a young person whose life has been changed through The King’s Trust. One of many who have moved from uncertainty to confidence with the right support. It’s also why I’ve chosen to take part in the King’s Trust CEO Challenge.

At DeltaXignia, our transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) is rooted in the belief that people thrive when they feel included, valued, and invested in. That same belief sits at the heart of The King’s Trust: creating opportunity, building confidence, and helping young people take ownership of their future.

Youth unemployment is more than a statistic, it’s potential left unrealised. The programmes delivered by The King’s Trust teach skills, rebuild self-belief and open doors that once felt firmly closed.

For me, this is also deeply personal. I’ve seen the difference these kinds of programmes can make through my stepdaughter, Jodie. The encouragement and structure she experienced helped her find direction and belief in herself. That impact stays with you.

In September, I’ll be taking on a multi-day physical challenge in the Scottish Highlands, pushing myself far beyond my comfort zone, to raise funds for this vital work. If you can, please consider donating whatever you’re able. Your support helps create real change for young people, not somewhere far away, but in communities just like your own.
