West Mercia Women’s Aid – Service Delivery During The Covid-19 Emergency

West Mercia Women’s Aid (WMWA) are being pro-active in responding to the challenges of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and would like to reassure you that WMWA is making every effort to continue to provide all of their services whilst protecting their staff, stakeholders and partners.

They are following Government and Public Health Guidance and working with support from Public Health professionals and commissioners. They recognise that guidance and advice are changing regularly and are keeping up to date with the situation on a daily basis. This means that the development of their contingency arrangements has been fluid at times but they are focused upon ensuring that they continue to provide a specialist service to all who need their support.

These are unprecedented times and it is not possible as yet to predict the impact of the current emergency on demand for their services, but they know that living with domestic abuse will be so much harder when people are being asked to stay at home with their families at all times. They are monitoring demand for their services and are committed to ensuring that they work with partners to meet any increase in the need for support during the current crisis and subsequently, when the economic and social impact will no doubt continue for some time to come.
