The Myriad Centre is one of the leading providers in the West Midlands of specialist person-centred support programmes to service users with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). With an annual turnover of £730,000, we offer day centre facilities and aim to promote independence and enrich lives through providing a range of developmental activities.
The Myriad Centre is a highly valued and respected service by both families and, the Local Authority. During a recent inspection from Worcester County Council’s Quality Assurance Team family comments included: “it’s a brilliant centre”, “they are doing a great job” and “we are very happy with it”.
We have ambitious plans for the future and you will be joining the Board at a significant point in our development, with the opportunity to influence and support this growth and change.
We are currently looking for two new trustees with experience in finance and marketing/PR respectively. As a member of the trustee board you will have general trustee responsibilities which include ensuring that the charity complies with its policies, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations. You will also contribute actively to the board of trustees’ role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and evaluating performance. The Board meets four times a year, in Worcester, however, through its Committee structure you could expect to be involved in potentially an additional four meetings each year.
We have a dedicated and highly experienced Centre Manager and Chief Executive and so these roles are to help oversee the financial and marketing activities of our charity, and not necessarily the day-to-day running.
We are looking for people with a passion for ensuring high quality services are delivered to people with profound and complex disability and who have significant professional experience in their field. Previous experience as a trustee would be welcomed but is not essential.
