St Richard’s Hospice is a key provider of healthcare in Worcestershire and supports and cares for adults with serious progressive illnesses through our community teams, our newly developed state-of-the-art day services and our seventeen beds.
We are passionately committed to enabling our patients to take control of their lives as their condition changes and we offer support to their families and carers too. You will join us at an exciting time in our development, with a £5.2M building project recently completed on our site in Wildwood Drive.
We are led by a Council of Governors, who are responsible for the direction of St Richard’s. As a Governor, you will help us to create exciting plans for our patients and, in particular, be committed to our philosophy of continuous development.
Our future plans will depend critically on our ability to grasp the opportunities offered by the new digital technologies and we are now looking for a Governor with digital experience to join our Council.
Throughout the pandemic the hospice has responded and evolved to embrace virtual ways of working and we aim to expand on this growth through our digital strategy.
You will be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of current digital platforms and an interest in exploring evolving digital innovations, together with experience in successfully delivering digital solutions. You will be passionate about supporting St Richard’s to further develop our digital capabilities and, in particular, our online income generation.
Experience as a non-executive director would be helpful, as would previous involvement in the charitable sector.
You will also have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both to act as an ambassador for St Richard’s within our community and to support, and encourage, our income generation, clinical and business support teams, and our many volunteers.
We are a Council of Governors that prides itself on its diversity of thought and wide experience, to which we are hoping you can add; we thus encourage interest and applications from all sections of society.
The role is voluntary (with reasonable expenses reimbursed) and will require a commitment to prepare for and attend Council meetings, which will be returning to “in-person” shortly.
If you can share our passion for providing extraordinary care for our patients, and are interested in finding out more about this exciting role, we shall be delighted to hear from you.
