Spire Healthcare, which includes Spire South Bank Hospital in Worcester, has been named as Best Healthcare Provider Partnership with the NHS at this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards.
Spire Healthcare was recognised for supporting the NHS during the pandemic. Between March 2020 and March 2021, it put its services, colleagues, facilities and equipment at the disposal of the NHS, caring for over 260,000 NHS patients who would otherwise had their treatment or diagnosis delayed or cancelled. South Bank cared for over 1600 NHS patients during this period, many of who had cancer, cardiac and other critical conditions.
Dawn Pickrell, Hospital Director at South Bank, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have received this award. It means a great deal to our colleagues to be recognised for the care we provided to our patients during the pandemic. It will provide a tremendous boost to the entire team and I am sure it will bolster our efforts to develop and continually improve our services.”
