Specsavers Worcester become first opticians to offer rapid flow testing

Worcestershire COVID-19 cases have now reached the lowest level since August last year. To support the recovery efforts, rapid flow testing for people without symptoms is now available at Specsavers Worcester.

They are the first opticians in the county and one of the first in the country to offer this service. The tests are free, easy to do and available for adults and children who are 12 years and over.

Around one in three people with COVID-19 have no symptoms. Rapid flow testing enables people to find out if they have the virus in around 30 minutes. People who test positive must self isolate to prevent the virus from spreading to others. Early detection using a rapid flow test is one of the ways we can help to suppress the virus and keep ourselves and others safe as we move out of lockdown.

To get a test, you need to book online via the Worcestershire County Council website www.worcestershire.gov.uk/communitytesting
