HWGTA are delighted to have a record number of Apprentices starting in September 2022.
116 Engineers and 34 Accountancy Apprentices have been employed by local businesses and are beginning their training with HWGTA. A record number of 9 females are starting in Engineering, helping to achieve ambitions of increasing the amount of women in STEM careers.
Engineers study for up to 4 years, spending their first year in the Training Centres in Hereford and Worcester to learn core skills and safety before moving into their employer’s workplace. Accountancy Apprentices typically begin at level 2, with progression opportunities through levels 3 and 4 with HWGTA that opens up opportunities to study to level 7 and achieve chartered status. Accountancy Apprentices typically study with HWGTA on day release, with the majority of time spent in their workplace.
Engineering manager Steve Hopcutt said, “Our centre is buzzing with aspiring Engineers. Apprentice numbers are growing year on year as young people make the choice to earn while they learn and get hands-on training. We work closely with local employers to grow talent and develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce.”
Employing an apprentice is easier than you think. HWGTA also offer apprenticeships in Business Administration, Coaching, Customer Service and Leadership & Management.
