Vamos Theatre launches a new online playfulness and creativity course for over 55s, aimed at getting people connecting and engaging.
Running online for five weeks on Thursdays, each of the welcoming and friendly one-hour sessions is designed to get brains working creatively and collaboratively, using interactive games and exercises. Everyone is welcome and absolutely no theatre experience is necessary.
Funded by Arts Council England, Vamos Theatre is the UK’s leading full mask theatre company and is well-known for teaching physical and devised theatre to students, professionals and communities, championing the importance of making connections with each other through empathy, inclusivity and play.
Connecting specifically with people over 55 is something the company has been planning for a while. Creative Producer, Honor Hoskins comments,
“We have so many supporters in the over-55 age group who love the creativity and humanity of our theatre productions, and we really wanted to create something just for them. All our work champions and celebrates playfulness and making connections and we know this is especially needed right now, so it seemed the perfect thing to explore in these workshops. Play’s the Thing is for anyone who would like to play, get creative, and connect with other like-minded people – it really is for everyone.”
