A combined figure of over £169 million has been paid out to businesses across Herefordshire & Worcestershire who have been affected by the Coronavirus under the Government’s Small Business Grant Scheme.
Over £134 million has been paid out to businesses in Worcestershire and over £35 million to businesses in Herefordshire as of 30 April 2020.
Sharon Smith, Chief Executive of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The news that over £169 million combined has been paid out to Herefordshire & Worcestershire businesses is extremely promising and will provide companies with some of the support they so desperately need in order to navigate and overcome the financial impact being felt as a result of the lockdown. I thank all of the local authorities for their hard work in getting this cash quickly to businesses.”
