Nifty Communications, a PR and marketing agency based in Worcester, were at Twickenham Stadium recently overseeing the National Rugby Awards.
Rights holders to the awards, Zeus Events, commissioned Nifty to grow the brand through innovative PR and social media campaigns that engaged rugby fans, clubs and potential sponsors.
Nifty was instrumental in securing Guinness as title sponsor for the senior awards, a significant development that increased reach and over-delivered on targets.
Another key move was persuading the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to join the judging panel, as Nifty brought the sport’s governing body in to support the awards and build a roadmap of activity for 2020 and beyond.
Hosted by Sky Sports Alex Payne, the National Rugby Awards recognise all those who contribute to grassroots rugby across the country. Players attending included European Player of the Year Alex Goode, former England Internationals Chris Robshaw, Topsy Ojo, Ollie Phillips and Women’s World Cup Winner Nolli Waterman.
