Staff at West Midland Safari Park are busy putting the finishing touches to a month-long festival of the spooky kind that opens to visitors on Saturday, 4th October 2014.

Spooky Spectacular, which is now in its fifth year, will be themed with over 100 scarecrows and almost 2,500 pumpkins. There's the opportunity for visitors to join in with the latest shows - all with new storylines
- that includes Creatures and Cauldrons, Things that Nibble in the Night, The Disastrous Delivery from Witches Weekly and Do you Dig Snakes? To add to the atmosphere and to bring the event to life, there are some unforgettable characters to meet too, such as Winnie the Witch with Maidy and Lurch; Countess von Biten; Doug the Grave Digger and The Notorious Witch.

Gemma Southall, Event Organiser, said, "Spooky Spectacular is a family fun event for our guests and it is one that the staff are able to enjoy as well. All day, staff will be dressed in character and when it gets dark we release the Spookier ones! There really is something for everyone and for the first time this year we will be introducing a free children's activity booklet with puzzles, games and an exciting new scarecrow hunt for our younger guests to enjoy".

As staff will be wearing spooky inspired costumes for the whole event, visitors too are encouraged to dress up and take part to celebrate the coming of Halloween.

Spooky Spectacular starts on Saturday, 4th October 2014 and will run every day up to Sunday, 2nd November 2014. In addition, hours will be extended until 9.00pm on weekends and during the October half term holiday throughout the Discovery Trail and Theme Park.

Spooky Spectacular pricing - daytime: £17.99 adults and £12.99 for children.  After 4.00pm - weekends and school holiday only - £8.99 adults and £6.49 for children. (Theme Park rides are charged extra in all cases).

Further information and ticket booking is available from the Park's official website Enquiries by telephone 01299 402114.
