TIME TO TALK AT THE CHAMBER

Home / News & Opportunities / Chamber News

Date: 01/02/2018

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is proud to be supporting the campaign #TimetoTalk Day (Thursday 1 February), as organised by Mind the mental health charity.

#TimetoTalk first launched in 2014, and has sparked millions of conversations in schools, workplaces, the media and online. Whilst people who experience a mental health problem are expected to take the lead on talking about mental health, #TimetoTalk Day encourages everyone to talk about it.

Mind states that: “Mental health problems affect one in four of us, yet people are still afraid to talk about it. For people with mental health problems not being able to talk about it can be one of the worst parts of the illness. So by getting people talking about mental health we can break down stereotypes, improve relationships, aid recovery and take the stigma out of something that affects us all.”

Mind has suggested some fantastic tips to get the conversation flowing, such as by using creative conversation starters and holding drop-in sessions over lunch to bust myths surrounding mental health problems.

To get involved in the day and share your activity in the workplace, follow @TimetoChange and #TimetoTalk to find out more, or visit www.time-to-talk.org.uk
