Law firm rises to green challenge

A Midlands law firm is pioneering a range of green measures as staff do their bit to help protect the environment. FBC Manby Bowdler, which has an office in Redditch, says it has taken a series of steps to cut down emissions and help fight climate change.

Neil Lloyd, Sales Director, said the company had installed LED lighting, set-up recycling stations throughout all its offices and was supporting not-for-profit utility switching company Energy Relief.

Speaking of their support to help combat climate change, Neil commented: “Energy Relief helps us get the best deal for our energy and they donate their switching fees to a charity of our choice.

“We are also encouraging our staff to walk to work wherever possible – the Redditch office has taken this up in a big way – and have negotiated discounts through National Express so that we use public transport more.

“Staff are also being encouraged to car share and more of our partners are switching to hybrid or full electric vehicles.

“We have also cut out unnecessary travelling by holding more video conferences and virtual meetings, which has made a huge difference to our fuel use.”
