How has 2020 started for your business?

The Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) is the private sector’s largest business survey in the UK and enables local businesses to have their voice heard. 7000 UK businesses take part in the QES every quarter. Click here to ensure that your business experiences are included this quarter.

Last quarter’s results showed that businesses continued to be negatively impacted by uncertainty. Domestic sales decreased for the fifth quarter in a row and overseas orders were negative for the second successive quarter. However, cashflow and investment in training and machinery saw tentative recoveries suggesting businesses could no longer hold off on investment. Now that we have officially left the EU it will be interesting to see if the increased clarity will bolster confidence and drive investment.
