Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Celebrates a Year of Success and Community Engagement

As the year draws to a close, the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce takes a moment to reflect on a year filled with impactful initiatives, growth, and community support. Serving as a constant pillar of business support across two counties, the Chamber expresses heartfelt gratitude for the collective cooperation and partnerships throughout the year.

We start the year with the Herefordshire and Worcestershire LSIP or Local Skills Improvement Plans. As the designated employer representative body for Worcestershire, we have hosted several free LSIP events. These events successfully facilitated conversations between employers and educators to identify local employers’ skills needs which will help drive future post-16 technical education and training provisions. The Worcestershire LSIP is something the Chamber is dedicated to, an important initiative set out by the government to help local businesses, if you would like to learn more, our full report our full report can be read here.

Throughout 2023, the Chamber released four Quarterly Economic Reports derived from the quarterly surveys within the two counties. The data from these surveys act as a catalyst for government policies, working with the British Chamber of Commerce to navigate the ever-changing economic landscape. The Chamber also released its Business Manifesto in April for 2023/24. The Manifesto outlines what the Chamber will deliver in 2023/24, focusing on 6 key areas: The Year Ahead in Business, Business Costs, Workforce Planning, Global Markets, Technology, and Innovation and Net Zero. Our Manifesto can be read here

Events like the Business Expo at the Three Counties Showground, the Business Awards celebrating local businesses, and the insightful ‘Maximise Your Membership’ stood as testaments to the Chamber’s commitment to fostering connections and business growth within the community.

Notably, the Chamber’s dedication continued with the launch of the Cost Saving Hub in May, a beacon of support amid economic uncertainty. The hub offers guidance on business costs, investment in people, and growth opportunities, reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to local businesses.

November saw more success for the Chamber with our Gold Employer recognition award for our contribution to the Armed Forces Covenant. As well as introduction of two new Member Benefits: Member Events Calendar and Chamber Advice Blogs.

As the year draws to a close, we at the Chamber want to extend our warmest wishes to all of you during this holiday season. We understand the importance of rejuvenating and recharging, especially after a year of hard work and dedication to our businesses and community. Let’s prioritise our well-being and the opportunity to rest, allowing us to return refreshed and ready for a successful year ahead. May this festive period be filled with enjoyment, and spending time with loved ones. Happy holidays to you and your businesses!
