Health supplements business Ethical Nutrition is opening its first manufacturing site in Redditch after securing premises through commercial property agency John Truslove.
It is a major development for the family business, launched by cancer survivor Grace Carter and her nutritionist fiancé Mark.
They worked with Ian Parker, joint managing director at commercial property agency John Truslove, to secure a lease on 1,664 sq ft of manufacturing and warehousing space at 81 Heming Road in Redditch.
Nutritional therapy has been a passion for Grace since her recovery from Hodkins Lymphoma when she was just 14, even after she went on to study criminology at university, with a Masters in terrorism and security, before working for the British Transport Police.
It was after meeting her husband to be, Mark Robertson, that the vision for Ethical Nutrition truly took shape.
“We shared a belief that the supplements industry could do better,” she explains. “Mark’s background includes a Masters in Nutrition and experience working within a supplements company, but together we wanted to create something of our own — a brand rooted in integrity, efficacy, and sustainability.
“At Ethical Nutrition, we prioritise premium, responsibly sourced ingredients with absolutely no unnecessary additives. Our commitment extends beyond what’s inside the product — all of our packaging is completely plastic-free, reflecting our dedication to both human health and the health of the planet.
“Now with a growing team supplying direct to customers all over the UK from our offices in Rowney Green, using a third-party manufacturer who maintains our own high standards, as well as a distribution company.
“Most people only think about nutrition when something isn’t right. We want to change that — focusing on prevention and helping people give their bodies what they need every day to stay well.
“As we expand into supplying to more independent retailers, we need to start building up our own manufacturing operation. It took us a long time to find the right premises, but Ian Parker at John Truslove was just brilliant – we could never have got to where we are now without his help.
“He really listened to what we needed – a food-safe site with capacity for a clean room – and found us the premises on the Washwood Industrial Estate. They are just ideal and will run alongside our office operation nearby.
“We are in a great place now to grow our brand even further.”
Ian Parker, joint managing director at John Truslove, said: “Understanding the needs of a growing business is key to our ability to match up the right tenants with the right premises and the right landlords.
“We listened to what Grace and Mark needed and the unit on the Washwood Industrial Estate clearly fitted their needs. We look forward to seeing their business continue to grow.”
