Grant funding for businesses across the Marches

Businesses across Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin have secured a £1 million boost after rising to the Marches Growth Hub’s £10 million Growth Challenge, new figures have revealed.

The challenge, launched by the Growth Hub in July, calls on businesses across the regions to claim their share of grant funding available to help them grow and create new sustainable jobs. It also brings together funding from the EU’s European Regional Development Fund and the government-backed Midlands Engine Investment Fund.

New figures, from April to September, show the four largest funding programmes in the Marches awarded a combined £972,000 across the region in a move which is expected to create nearly 30 new jobs.

Businesses are now being encouraged to visit www.growthchallenge.co.uk if they are looking specifically for funding to help grow their enterprises. All you need to do is give a few details about what type of business you are and which local authority area you’re based in.

Paul Hinkins, Chair of the Marches Growth Hub, said: “It is fantastic to see so many companies rising to our £10m Growth Challenge and putting themselves in prime position to realise their growth ambitions.”

Grants are available for SMEs who offer services and products to other businesses for projects as varied as helping you to bring a new product to market or to build, extend or renovate your premises.
