Abigail was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer on the 25th November 2019. She was just 10 months old.
Over the last year, Abbie has undergone 8 months of aggressive chemotherapy, numerous procedures and investigations and has spent much of her life in hospital. This has had a huge impact on Abigail, her parents and her brother Jacob especially as so much of her treatment took place during the coronavirus pandemic.
We are delighted to say that Abbie is now doing well and has finished treatment. It is hoped that any remaining cancer she has will remain dormant as she continues to grow. It is wonderful to see Abbie doing so well and we would like to wish Abigail and her family a very Happy Christmas.

During the pandemic, the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was proud to be able to disperse support packages to local families like Abbie’s to help make things a little easier. During this time, it became even more evident that so many of these families were greatly in need of someone to talk to and someone to provide emotional and practical support. This support is needed for parents, the children affected and for their siblings too. This is especially the case for bereaved families.
Sadly, locally, this level of support is simply not available and this is why today on Giving Tuesday, the team at the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust is proud to be able to launch a new appeal to fund a family support worker for our local families. One day we hope to be able provide support in other areas too.
