Calling all businesses working wonders with water

Water is a precious resource. If you know of, or are a part of, a business which has been working to improve local water quality or reduce water consumption at any point in the last five years, other businesses and agencies would love to hear about it, learn from you, be inspired by you.

The annual Marches Blue Business Award (developed by the Environment Agency and Shropshire Wildlife Trust) celebrates businesses which are leading the way in protecting and managing water resources. Any size of business and any scale of project in the Marches area (Hereford, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin) is eligible to apply for this Award and earn regional recognition. Previous participants range farms to breweries, hospitals to housing developers, manufacturers to bus companies. Examples of projects include water use monitoring and audits; rainwater harvesting; water saving fixtures and fittings; rain gardens and de-paving projects and enhanced building or landscape design.

Applications close on Friday 1 November at 5.00pm.

Nominees’ projects will be showcased at the Meres and Mosses Business Environment Network event on Wednesday 29th January 2020, when the winners will be announced. https://www.meresandmossesben.co.uk/events/energy/
