Business Leaders virtual event a hamper-filled hit

Last week we were delighted to virtually host leaders from the two counties most influential businesses at our exclusive event for Patron and Strategic Members.

Our first keynote speaker was former Royal Marine Commando, Jason Fox.
Having completed the Special Forces selection, he spent the second decade of his term with the Special Boat Service (SBS), during which he led numerous operations around the globe, involving hostage rescues, counter terrorism, counter insurgency, surveillance, body guarding and counter-narcotic missions. After leaving the military in 2012, Jason co-founded Rock 2 Recovery, a charity set up to help the armed forces, veterans and their families cope with PTSD.

Adam Marshall, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, also joined us and shared his highlights of the work BCC do to influence change with, and on behalf of, Chamber Members. Focusing on the ‘Restart, Rebuild, Renew’ project, Adam discussed the impact of COVID-19 on UK businesses and trade, how the network has supported firms through the pandemic and what is needed to drive economic recovery.

All our Members received a hand delivered bespoke Hamper to enjoy during the event supplied by the Centenary Lounge.

Feedback was great, here’s a few of the comments our Members made:

“I thought the event worked extremely well, the gift was perfect for an online event and the speaker was perfect for a virtual event (i.e. so different as to make it a must-listen).”

“Thanks for organising the event last night – it was done really well and was nice to be able to see everyone. It’s so difficult at the moment isn’t it as there’s no way you can ever beat a face-to-face dinner…. But it was a good second best.”

“I really enjoyed the event and I’m glad The Chamber didn’t take the easy route and cancel it! The speaker was different from the usual ones and very interesting, I’m sure there are some points relevant to our business we can learn too. It is clear that a lot of effort went into making a virtual event as special as possible.”
