A new year of opportunities within Worcestershire

With businesses getting back to work in January, the county has seen promising and exciting opportunities emerge.

The beginning of the year welcomed the news from Westminster, that the National Minimum Wage is set to increase across all age groups indicating a promising year ahead for workers across the UK, the government also announced the introduction of flexible rail fares to improve the outlook for current commuters as well as looking to reduce reliance on less sustainable travel options. This is ahead of the much anticipated opening of the counties brand new train station Worcestershire Parkway, scheduled to be open for business at the end of this month.

Other exciting opportunities have been identified during the early stages of the year, particularly for entrepreneurs or small businesses in the technology sector with the news of BetaDen launching their search for applicants to enroll on the 9-month accelerator programme.

Finally, the end of January will also see the impending EU Exit deadline, with the hope that a smooth exit from the European Union can be negotiated. There is still time to make sure that your business is ‘Brexit Ready’ and you can find out more information here.
