9ct gold and diamond commission for Malvern firm Selcraft UK

A special commission for 9ct gold and diamond jewellery to recognise members service for the National Operatic and Dramatic Association has been created from start to finish by the Malvern firm.

Selcraft UK were contacted by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) as they sought to find the best choice of designer and manufacturer to provide a range of jewellery recognising a member’s service or role within their well-known organisation.

The local firm were asked to produce the special commission for the highest long service award available, which is a 9ct diamond set bar reflecting 60 years of membership to NODA.

The bars are handmade and produced in Selcraft’s Jewellery Quarter workshops in Birmingham, by time-served and highly skilled craftsmen.

The 9ct gold for the bars is also made in Birmingham using recycled material. Each bar is individually hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay office and carries 4 marks :

1. Sponsors mark (Selcraft)
2. 375 mark (9ct)
3. Anchor mark (Birmingham Assay)
4. the letter “V” (for the year 2020)

The diamonds are ethically sourced and are a brilliant cut design at 1.75mm diameter and positioned centrally within each bar in a “star-set” style. Each of the diamonds has around 50 facets individually ground by lapidary where each stone is individually held and the facet ground.

The finished items are individually presented in jewellery boxes.
