Permanent: Full-time – 37 hours, Salary: £21,000 + benefits, Location: Worcester based

The Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is a member-led, not for profit organisation which works to support the local business community and our network of members.

We have an immediate requirement for a Business Engagement Officer to work in our busy Growth Hub, Worcestershire Business Central (WBC). Delivered in partnership with Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire County Council, WBC supports ERDF eligible Worcestershire based businesses to grow and thrive through high level dedicated account management and referral services.

The Business Engagement Officer will co-ordinate the pro-active telephone based business engagement plan for the Growth Hub, identifying relevant stakeholder programmes and developing a call plan for the Business Engagement Officers.

Your main duties will include proactively engaging with target companies through telephone contact, building positive relationships and encouraging take up of relevant business services, whilst actively researching and identifying businesses within a given target market or within a given brief, being the first point of contact for all incoming enquiries, offering a triage, diagnostic and signposting service that joins up national and local business support.

You will ensure all activity is accurately recorded and logged on the CRM system and that all actions are monitored and followed up on, complying with quality procedures, proactively building inclusive partnerships with local stakeholders, the private sector and government and supporting the planning and co-ordination of all Worcestershire Business Engagement events, recruiting attendees and promoting and attending events as appropriate.

The successful candidate will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, have proven experience within a direct sales or telesales role, be commercially aware, customer focussed and able to demonstrate the ability to over achieve against targets.

You will also have proven account management and stakeholder engagement experience and have experience working with the public and private sector.
