Five winners from the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards have successfully gone on to claim their category in the West Midlands heats of the British Chamber Business Awards 2016.
The winners for the West Midlands are:
Bee Lighting Ltd, Redditch - Small Business of the Year
Gemporia, Redditch - Best Use of Technology
RGS Worcester - Education and Business Partnership
Vision Labs Limited, Kidderminster - Commitment to People Development
Waste Spectrum Environmental Limited, Worcester - Exporter of the Year
Now in their 13th
year, the Awards are a highlight of the business calendar, and they pay tribute to the key role that local businesses play in driving the UK economy.
Companies in Worcestershire claimed five out of the seven regional categories for the West Midlands, showing the strength of businesses in the county. These companies will now go forward to represent the West Midlands in the National Finals, which take place in London in November.
Steve Bennett, Founder of Gemporia, said:
“Gemporia are delighted to have won the Award for Best Use of Technology. We pride ourselves on offering our customers the best user experience possible through our use of technology so to be recognised for this is a huge achievement.”
John Pitt, Headmaster at RGS Worcester, said:
“We are simply delighted to have won a Regional Award for our partnership with Business which reflects the outstanding Careers offering at RGS Worcester. Our relationship with Business is key to offering our students the best advice, work experience and Career opportunities available and we are very pleased that this has been recognised in the Region as well as the two counties. We look forward to taking part in the National Finals in November now.”
Mike Ashton, Chief Executive of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said:
“I am delighted that five winners from the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards have gone on to win the Award for the West Midlands in their category. In 2015, two Worcestershire businesses were runners up in the British Chamber Business Awards and in 2014, Worcester based Titania won the Small Business of the Year Award, becoming a National Winner.
The Chamber Business Awards are the perfect opportunity to celebrate our business community’s achievements, to take stock of the outstanding performances of local companies and to inspire others to follow in their footsteps – I look forward to seeing our county’s businesses represented on the National stage in November and I wish all five companies the best of luck.”
