More than 100 businesses from across Worcestershire attended an event this week in support of a new approach to raising the profile of the county.
The event, organised by the Worcestershire Ambassadors, took place at Blackfinch New Road, home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club. Attendees heard from a number of high profile local figures including; Matt Rawnsley, CEO of Worcestershire County Cricket Club; Vince Hopkins, Director of Worcestershire Ambassadors and Richard Soper CBE, Worcestershire Brand Champion.
A new network, the Worcestershire 1000, is drawn from businesses and organisations from across the County. It was launched last month. The free-to-join network will help to tell the Worcestershire story by promoting the county regionally, nationally and internationally.
Members of the Worcestershire 1000 will be able to receive instant access to the new Worcestershire brand logos, video footage and images, as well as template documents and statistics all designed to raise the profile of the county. Members will also be able to engage with the Worcestershire brand community through the LinkedIn Group and membership directory.
Vince Hopkins, Director of Worcestershire Ambassadors, said: “We’re delighted to be able to add the strong support of the Worcestershire Ambassadors to this growing brand for the county. As Worcestershire Ambassadors, we always take every opportunity to promote our fantastic county locally, nationally and internationally, and the resources available through the new brand website will allow us to grow the high quality reputation of Worcestershire.”
Over 150 members have already signed up to become a member of the Worcestershire 1000, since the launch of the brand in May. The members have already downloaded 270 pieces of content for free, to help them to promote the county of Worcestershire.
Richard Soper CBE, Worcestershire Brand Champion, said: “It’s so great to see that the Worcestershire Ambassadors have added their support to promoting the Worcestershire Brand. Naturally we want as many people as possible to promote the advantages of our county, and how it is a fantastic place to live, work, visit and invest in. I know Worcestershire’s residents and businesses are very proud of the county we have and I look forward to seeing many more people sign up to ‘OneWorcestershire’.”
