Worcester City FC Expands Community Outreach with Free After School Football Sessions

Worcester City FC is continuing its commitment to supporting young people across the city through its growing Community Outreach Programme, proudly supported by CARS Service Centre.

The initiative focuses on increasing access to physical activity and football for primary school-aged children, particularly in schools located in some of Worcester’s more underprivileged areas.

We have been working closely with Perrywood Primary, Cranham Primary and Northwick Primary School for the last six-weeks and have interacted with over 100 young people, with amazing feedback from pupils and teachers.

Delivered by our experienced community coaching team, sponsored by WPA, the programme offers fun, engaging, and inclusive sessions that encourage teamwork, confidence, and healthy lifestyles. The sessions are run both in schools and as part of matchday experiences, giving children a chance to connect with the club and its players.

The coaching team includes support from Matt Tally Player Development, ensuring high-quality delivery from qualified and passionate coaches who understand the value of sport in shaping young lives.

Funding from Platform Housing and global insurer Allianz has played a vital role in making this initiative possible, allowing the club to provide free sessions in schools that otherwise might not have access to such opportunities.

General Manager Hayley Tally said:

“This programme is about breaking down barriers and making football accessible for every child in our city. We’re proud to be working alongside our fantastic partners to make a real difference through sport.”

Paul Edwards, Community Engagement Officer at Platform Housing Group said: “This project is a brilliant example of how grassroots sports can create a big impact.  By tackling barriers to participation, it helps young people not only stay active but also build friendships, resilience and a sense of belonging.  We’re really proud to support Worcester City Football Club in expanding their outreach work.”
