The Redditch company has been named Supplier of the Year at the 2026 Pump Industry Awards, marking its second consecutive win and reinforcing its leadership in energy‑efficient technologies, sustainability and innovation. Organised by the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA), the event took place on 19 March 2026 at The Hilton at St. George’s Park, Burton upon Trent.
The award recognises WEG’s ability to deliver integrated system‑level solutions supported by strong customer service and supply capabilities. The trophy was collected by Gustavo da Silva, managing director of WEG UK, and Andrew Glover, product & business development manager, with six‑time snooker world champion Steve Davis OBE presenting at the ceremony.
“Winning Supplier of the Year for the second year running highlights our continued investment in energy‑efficient technologies for pumping applications,” said Marek Lukaszczyk, marketing manager for the UK and Middle East. “By combining motors, drives and digital control systems, we help customers improve performance, reliability and sustainability.”
WEG’s product portfolio includes the industry‑leading innovations such as the W23 Sync+ ULTRA, designed to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. The W80 AXgen motor introduces axial flux technology, offering compact, highly efficient solutions with efficiencies up to 96.9 per cent—helping OEMs lower costs, system size and carbon footprint.
The company is also expanding its global manufacturing footprint. A recently inaugurated facility in Santo Tirso, Portugal, increases production capacity and improves European supply responsiveness.
Sustainability remains a core focus, demonstrated by WEG’s development of *WEG EcoHub Version 1.0*, the first fully pre‑verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) tool for electric motors. Verified by EPD International AB, it provides transparent lifecycle data aligned with ISO 14025.
“This recognition reflects the real‑world impact of our work,” added Lukaszczyk. “We’re helping customers meet increasingly demanding efficiency and sustainability goals through technology, expertise and local support.”
