Vamos Theatre, the UK’s leading full mask theatre company, is holding a series of Community Conversations to help inform the creation of its new show, A Tale of Three Halves.
The company, funded by Arts Council England, makes its productions directly from real life stories, discovered through extensive conversations with people and communities across the country. Vamos Theatre’s upcoming show will explore community relationships and feature three different houses and three different themes – which are yet to be discovered!
Vamos Theatre would like to invite local people to join Artistic Director and writer, Rachael Savage, for a Vamos Theatre Community Conversation at the Swan Theatre, Worcester on July 14th. It’ll be a friendly and informal chance to share stories – perhaps tales of special connections, community support or extraordinary people – and take part in helping to create A Tale of Three Halves.
Rachael comments, “Since the pandemic we have different relationships with our neighbours, we talk to them, have become dependent on them, even grown to like them! We live very closely to each other; in a terrace we sleep with our heads only feet away. We would love to hear from different communities around the country about their stories of neighbours. All of our shows are made with our core belief, Nothing About Us Without Us, with those living the stories part of the rehearsal and writing processes; for A Tale of Three Halves, the research and initial ideas will also start in the community. I really look forward to meeting people and hearing their tales.”
The next Community Conversation will take place at The Swan Theatre foyer, The Moors, Worcester, WR1 3ED, on Thursday, July 14th 2022 between 2:00pm-4:00pm.
