The Award came as a result of the inspirational work by The Association for Dementia Studies, established by Professor Dawn Brooker. The team develop practical ways of working with those living with dementia, whilst delivering education programmes, resources and publications that enable staff to provide skilled care.

The University was shortlisted for six awards in total:

  • Outstanding Support for Students
  • Datapoints Merit Award
  • International Collaboration of the Year
  • Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community
  • Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year

Earlier this week, the University was also named Sustainability Institution of the Year at the Green Gown Awards. It will now go on to represent the Colleges and Universities of the United Kingdom at the global awards.
