Worcester-based Key Company Celebrates after Near Perfect Assessment

Staff at a leading access management company are celebrating a near flawless assessment of their manufacturing processes.

The Key Safe Company, which designs, produces and sells industry-leading key safes, was praised unreservedly in its latest major ISO 9001 Certification audit.

The Worcester-based firm was found to demonstrate exceptionally high levels of quality control during a two-day examination by independent testing, inspection and certification specialists BRE.

ISO 9001 is the international standard that underlines the requirements for a quality management system. Certification proves that an organisation offers quality products and operates correctly under its regulatory measures and has been held by Key Safe since 2010.

Matt Guinan, Key Safe’s Head of Technical and Quality Manager, said the company’s outstanding ISO rating was testament to the endeavour of staff and their willingness to embrace what can be seen as a stale topic.

“By getting everybody invested – supporting you and excited about producing better products and better experiences for customers – it transforms into something very powerful from a commercial perspective,” Matt said.

“International customers recognise it. And when businesses see we’re ISO-accredited, they can see the very high standards we are working to.”

The Key Safe Company, founded by British entrepreneur David Ogden, operates within an incredibly sensitive market.

The significance of a quality management system is, therefore, paramount in the thinking of all that work at the company.

Matt, who has worked at Key Safe for close to ten years, added: “David has always drilled into me that people are putting everything they’ve got, including their lives in some cases, in our hands so it’s got to be right.

“Quality management is not a small thing, everything has got to be right. It is taken very seriously by every single employee.

“It’s at the forefront of everybody’s mind, from design and production to after-sales. All the way through everyone looks at how to make it the best possible product and experience for the customer.

That’s what makes us so successful. It’s always there. It’s not an after-thought, it’s programmed from the very beginning.

The firm’s faultless processes complement the performance of its new ark Tamo device, certified by independent security authorities as the world’s most secure push-button key safe.

The ark Tamo will be the subject of attack testing demonstrations at the International Security Expo at London’s Olympia in September.
