St Michael’s Hospice says it wants to appoint a leader of the future to work alongside its senior managers.
The Bartestree-based charity has launched a search to recruit a graduate to lead on “exciting and innovative projects”. It’s looking for a candidate graduating this year, or one who has graduated in the last 12 months.
St Michael’s provides palliative and end-of-life care, and support, to families across Herefordshire and beyond. In the last year it has cared for or supported 2,495 people; a figure which has more than doubled in under eight years.
“If you have an aspiration to contribute to the charitable sector and one day lead a charity, then this is the role for you,” said Matt Fellows, the Hospice’s Chief Executive.

“We will provide every opportunity for you to build a portfolio of experiences through opportunities to learn, develop and importantly impact our future.”
He says the new role, called a Strategic Project Lead, will give the successful candidate the opportunity to influence projects covering areas such as new technologies; operational efficiencies; wider collaboration with the community; and new and innovative funding streams. The position is a fixed term two-year role reporting to Mr Fellows, and working alongside and in support of the Strategic Management Team at St Michael’s.
“We’re passionate about the care we provide at St Michael’s, but we also take pride in our colleagues’ careers, and this position will give the successful candidate the best start in a charity-focused profession,” Mr Fellows added.
