Spire South Bank Hospital awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark

Spire South Bank Hospital once again receives a prestigious award recognising high standards in cancer care.

Rebecca Hardman, Oncology and Haematology Suite Lead Nurse commented “We were first awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark in 2016 and we were re-awarded accreditation in December 2019 with very complimentary comments including being congratulated on the passion the team showed for providing the highest standard of care within the small but efficient environment”.

The suite’s multidisciplinary team of surgeons, oncologists, pharmacists and specialist nurses work to deliver personalised treatment programmes for a wide range of cancers whilst ensuring patients feel safe, confident and reassured at all times.

Carole Brooks, Head of Clinical Services, added “I am delighted that our Oncology team has successfully retained the MQEM. This accolade shows the dedication that the team apply on a daily basis – ensuring our patients who are living with cancer are treated in a care environment that meets required standards, receive individualised care and the best possible experience as a service user”.
