We are a well-established charity supporting people with sensory impairment. We are seeking a new Treasurer to join and strengthen our committed board during a period of development and change.
Sight Concern Worcestershire has been supporting blind and partially sighted people since the 1880s. We have recently expanded our services to support d/Deaf and hard of hearing people too. We have a strong, committed and engaged board and need a new Treasurer after our previous Treasurer became Chair. Our Treasurer will lead the board in meeting its financial governance and management obligations, bringing vital knowledge and skills. We would like you to have;
-relevant financial experience and/or qualifications.
-the ability to learn understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
-the skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences.
a willingness to be available to staff for advice on an ad hoc basis, with “hands on” involvement where necessary.
-the desire to ensure that people with a sensory impairment receive the best support we can offer.
We recognise the value of lived experience within our charity and are committed to making the board accessible.
