Pre-Met Ltd Sponsor St. Augustine’s Catholic High School & Sixth Form in the “F1 In Schools” STEM Project!

“F1 In Schools” is an international STEM and engineering competition endorsed by the Formula 1 organisation. Team C-Racing from St. Augustine’s Catholic High School in Redditch, were crowned the West Midlands Regional Champions earlier this month at the Regional Finals held at Aston University. Beating a total of 48 competitor teams and securing a place in the UK National Finals.

As a team, C-Racing which consists of: Nikolas Jasiak – Project Management, Noah BarkerBrand Supervisor, Conrad Skrycki – Lead Car Designer, Riley Perry – Workshop Lead, Michael Kwiatkowski – Technology Lead, Lennon Bradley – Media and Design, have been preparing for many months prior to competition day. The judging concentrated on racing the cars, design and engineering of the cars, brand identity of the team, the pit display, sponsorship and marketing, and also on sustainability work. As a team, they had to ensure the cars were strictly within regulations, and all areas of the competition were perfected. This also resulted in C-Racing receiving the “Best Portfolios” award.

The National Finals will be taking place at the Magna Science Adventure centre in Rotherham on the 26th & 27th of March, where they will be competing against other teams from all over the country for a chance to become National Champions, and compete in the World Finals later this year.

As part of their enterprise initiative, they collaborated with various local companies within the Redditch area, who invested in the project through sponsorship. In return, C-Racing displayed the sponsors’ brand identity and logos throughout areas of the project; for example, the title sponsors Pre-Met Ltd., are also part of the team’s name., C-Racing Pre-Met.
