Paddle for a Purpose: Local Businesses Unite for Headway Worcestershire Charity Kayak Event

In an inspiring display of community spirit and commitment, eight intrepid kayakers from various Worcestershire businesses are set to embark on a challenging 38 mile paddle along The River Severn for a noble cause.

Headway Worcestershire is thrilled to announce the inaugural “Paddle For A Purpose” event, intended to raise crucial funds for adults affected by brain injury.

Conceived by Steve Ennis of Business Doctors, the Paddle For A Purpose event has seen participants training tirelessly for several months to prepare for this unique adventure. Their dedication truly embodies the essence of coming together for a meaningful cause, having honed their skills under the professional guidance of Your Adventure Challenge.

Funds raised during this event will provide vital support for Headway Worcestershire, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of those living with brain injuries. In the UK, an adult is admitted to hospital every 90 seconds with a brain injury, underscoring the importance of support services like those provided by Headway.

Headway Worcestershire operates four Wellbeing Centres located in Worcester, Evesham, Bromsgrove, and Stourport, complemented by a dedicated Outreach team that covers the county. These facilities serve as crucial hubs for individuals and families navigating the challenges of brain injuries, offering essential services, support, and camaraderie.

“We are grateful for the phenomenal support of local businesses and the passionate participants who are joining us for this event,” said Mandie Fitzgerald CEO at Headway Worcestershire. “Together, we are not only promoting physical wellness and teamwork but also raising awareness about brain injuries and the need for continued support for affected individuals and their families.”

The Paddle For A Purpose event will take place on Friday 18th April and we invite the community, supporters, and friends to come cheer on our dedicated kayakers as they take on this challenge for a cause that affects so many.
