NMITE (New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering) in Hereford will be hosting a Future Skills Fair from 3-6pm on 1st February to encourage young people in Secondary and Post-16 education to explore the next steps in their education, career, or training.
Attendees will be able to interact with a variety of local employers, educators, and training providers, and gain insight into different career pathways through a series of interactive workshops.
Workshops
4:30pm – NMITE’s Engineering Challenges – NMITE’s academic team will be running interactive engineering challenges at 4:30pm. Small teams will have to come up with creative solutions to problems that a team of engineers might face
4pm and 5pm – allpay: Data and analytics – Learn about the increased importance of data in the modern world and career opportunities in data and analytics.
3:30pm and 4:30pm – Katherine Harriet: Infection Control – Learn about the importance of infection control with Katherine Harriet Home Care. Featuring a handwashing test with UV lights.
3pm – 6pm – Avant Garde: Hairstyling – Come and try your hand at hairdressing! Discover what it’s like to cut and style hair and experience the training and career options that Avant Garde can offer you.
Free parking is available opposite NMITE’s Blackfriars campus at St. Thomas Cantilupe CofE Primary School.
No need to book – simply pop in between 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday 1st February, 2023.
This event is part of the Herefordshire Skills for the Future programme, a fully funded project that is made possible by the European Social Fund grant. The aim of the project is to increase skills provision in Herefordshire through a range of activities for both young people and local businesses.
