Three new partners are celebrating their promotions at Harrison Clark Rickerbys, along with a range of other promotions to reward and develop talent within the firm.

Harry Bengough, Rosalind Andrews and Clare Emery have been made partners within the banking and finance, planning and corporate teams – Harry now leads the banking and finance team.
He said: “My clients typically come to me when a financing becomes more complex, or difficult, when banks’ standard form documents won’t do the job. I really enjoy structuring deals to make them work for my clients or coming up with creative solutions to the problems they face and I’m particularly pleased to be leading the team now.”
“When not doing the day job, I join in with a group of colleagues and other companies at a weekly five-a-side football game – it’s pretty casual, and definitely more fun than professional!”

Clare, who is a corporate lawyer, specialising in dentistry, finds the variety of her work really involving – she said: “It’s a bit like one of those whack-a-mole games at a fairground – you solve one problem for a client and another one pops up! But that variety and the chance to really build relationships with clients, are what make the work so rewarding.”
Outside work, her role as a school governor gives her the chance to help young people and her local community – she said: “I really want to make sure that children get opportunities that will help them; being a governor is challenging but to be able to do it for our local school is brilliant.”
For Ros Andrews, professional life and home life overlap, because, as a planning lawyer who has a particular interest in new uses for old houses, she is refurbishing her own home. She said: “As soon as I started studying law, I knew I wanted to be a planning lawyer. Giving an old building a new purpose is one aspect of my work which really interests me – people often have amazing vision for a space and how it can be used differently. I have restored or refurbished four houses myself and am now on my fifth, so to help other people with their plans is fascinating to me.”
New senior associates in the firm are also celebrating – Syed Alam, Helen Higginbotham, Andrew Morris, Stephenie Malone, Rebecca Pike and Zoe Touhey have all moved up from associate, while Nathan Guest, Rachel Nolloth, James Osborne, Emme Raynsford, Priya Tromans and Morgan West have all been promoted to associate level.
There new trainees have joined the firm – Matthew Shephard has joined the corporate team, while Austen Howarth and Hannah Maidment have joined sister company Medical Accident Group. Meanwhile former trainees Ed Kilner, Rachael Wheeler and Harpreet Kaur have all qualified as solicitors and been taken on within the firm at the end of their training. The firm has offered another 15 training contracts to would-be solicitors, seven of them to internal candidates.
Jonathan Brew, the firm’s senior partner, said: “it is very important that we promote and develop our own staff – we are proud of the career opportunities which we offer our talented people and we know that encouraging and challenging them at every stage is the way to continue to give clients excellent service.”
